I had so much success with my first sweet delight that I bought 5 mores las year. All of them ( the new 5 additions ) Always have black spot . The first one that I have for more than 4 years I Never saw any black spot on it . All of them (6) are in the same soil and they received same fertilizing traitement ,. same watering frequency . Is it possible that in the same species but from two different distributors.. there could be so much difference on the gene of protection from black spot .My 5 new additions are in there second year , if they don't improved I will get rid of them . I though the gene of protection from black spot were link to hybritre .species , it seems it is more complexe .. It seems that within the same specie there is a Lot of variation . To give a little more info , the flowers of all the six Sweet Delight look the same and smell the same , But I can notice that the leave Don't look the same at all ... the one with never black spot has more thick leaves and are more shiny , the other 5 has thin leaves not shiny...

The colors can vary significantly between cold weather (paler) and warm weather (brighter and more vibrant). The fragrance is fruity, very strong, is present all day long and lasts a long time on the flower. It is also a long lasting cut flower in a vase, it held its form perfectly for a week in a vase while maintaining its fragrance too. The petals will fall off by themselves at the end of the bloom's life. It is also very floriferous, with many blooms in each flush and repeats fast. I counted 36 petals on a bloom with the official NIRP website stating a petal count of 30. I love this rose.

Please note HMF's rating system for individual rose characteristics. It would be a more useful resource if more guests used it.

Meanwhile, thank you very much for taking the time to share you experience!

In year two, mine is 7' tall by 5' wide, always in bloom, clusters and singles. Strongest fragrance of any of my roses this year except perhaps Mr. Lincoln, which isn't always in bloom.
