This rose was a seedling in 2017 from open-pollinated seed of the purple polyantha from Kathy Zuzek 'Sven'. I'm not sure what the male parent was, but with the leaf attributes, spring only bloom, and larger heavily petalled flowers I suspect it is not a self. One rose in the landscape nearby that may be the male parent is 'John Davis'. I love the large cupped double blooms of this rose and look forward to it blooming each spring. It doesn't set hips, but it's pollen is fertile and led to some new seedlings. I'm glad Matt Douglas liked it when I sent him a plant and released it through High Country Roses. It is a nice option for a a larger flowered rambler-type white climbing rose for especially colder climates.
