Paeonia, 'Spring Serenade' tree peony $ 95
Notable characteristics: We selected this tree peony from our open-pollinated seedling beds after many years of observation. It dates to the early 2000s and first bloomed about a decade ago. From all appearances, the parentage of this tree peony are a Chinese rockii tree peony crossed with Chinese Central Plains type. Flowers seems to glow, radiating the serene yet dynamic beauty of a spring morning. Moderate growth rate.
Hybridizer: Cricket Hill Garden, to be registered with the American Peony Society in 2025.

Growth habit and size at maturity (10 years old): Upright and spreading. Flowers held well above the foliage. Grows to 4' tall and 3' wide in 10 years.
Flower form and size: Anemone double, 6-8".
Flower fragrance: Light and sweet.
Bloom time: Mid-season tree peony, blooms in our USDA zone 6a garden in the third week of May.
Zone hardiness: Proven in USDA zones 4-9.
Plant size:  1 year old grafted tree peonies have 1 woody stem, with offshoot buds, and a graft root. The plant may or may not have some of its own roots already developed. This one may bloom its first spring in the ground, or will wait until the second spring.
