I believe Botanica might be incorrect. French and English cultivars are not tested for zone 4 or even 5. A good indicator is usually the gardens listing the respective rose.

That may be correct. Just putting the info here. I find some of the info on HMF frustratingly incomplete. It will only get better if I help. As an example, the info for Condessa de Sastago shows it growing 7b - 10b, but I'm pretty sure it's been growing in my neighborhood for 80 plus years. We are somewhere around a 7...but it swings into -10F and colder on rare occasions. Botanica lists this rose as much more cold tolerant and taller which matches what I am seeing here. Maybe in time with some of those older varieties like this one, researchers have trialed it elsewhere and/or gathered reports? One person didn't write Botanica, it was many, which means tons more researching ability.

HMF welcomes Members' contributions in order to update its listings. There are only very few admins who are not in a position to correct the whole data base. It is done on a request basis with Q&A alerting to deficiencies. In the case of 'Condes de Sastago' we see several gardens in Zone 6a, so we will modify this information. Your inputs are well appreciated.
