I obtained my plant from la Campanella. The scent is indeed, as all the sources state, very sweet -- though somewhat variable. At times it is a very close match to the sugary, non-spicy attar of Rose a Parfum de l'Hay, and at other times it has some of the peppery or nasturtium-like quality of Reine des Violettes. There were about 30 buds on my plant in May, but some yellowed and dropped before opening. The plant grows in an 18 litre pot. The second flush was in August, less generous but respectable. Unfortunately I tend to find that the secondary growth that bears the second flush of flowers is rather susceptible to powdery mildew -- the stems (more so than the leaves themselves) showing here and there a white bloom so thick you could almost mistake it for mealy bugs!

The incorrect photo is the one with many blooms that obviously do not match the others in the collection.

Thank you.

Will you please remove the photo we placed for Ardoisee de Lyon?
It is incorrect.
Sorry for this inconvenience.

Ardoisée de Lyon is thought by some rosarians to be a sport of Baronne Prévost. I grow both, and they do bloom at the same time and have very similar habits.

'Ardoisee de Lyon' blossomed much more prolifically for me.

Hi, Robert. I have a found Baronne Prevost that has much better rebloom than the plant I bought. I'm looking forward to planting out the entire group to see if it was just a coincidence.
