We are looking for photos from the launch of the Melliand Peace rose in Pasadena California in 1946 with Mary Alice van Barneveld holding some doves.

Our company Philippine Cut flower Corp. purchased grand gala rose variety last may 1997. It was planted in a 4,000.00 sq. meter greenhouse. The stem diameter and length are still in good size but the bud size is getting smaller and the plants are easily got infected by pest and diseases. What technical advise you could give us to have a quality that we had before.
Thank you and more power to your company

I purchased a new rose bush at Wal Mart. The name of the rose is "Christian Dior Rose". When I bought it, the plant had one large yellow bloom and two large red buds. Will my rose continue to bloom in two colors after the buds and blooms are gone?

There are several explainations for what you describe;
A. The rose you bought was mislabled, and isn't Christian Dior at all. This is very common with sellers such as Walmart. Time will tell with more blooms. You may have a bicolor rose.

B. There are two rose plants in the pot. One red and one yellow. Again time will tell, if one part continues to bloom yellow while the other blooms red I'd be inclinded to believe you got two for one.

C. This is the most unlikely because red roses don't normally throw yellow sports. A sport is a natural mutation which may or may not be stable. Chicago Peace is a sport of Peace.

I thought there may be two plants in one pot but there was only one main trunk coming from the soil. I hope the rose continues to have the bicolor blooms. I'll just have to wait and see. Right now it doesn't have any more buds except for the two red ones that haven't opened. Thanks for your responce.
