How is this rose on its own roots? I have it in 2 different situations and its very slow to establish. Since this is not unusual for some garden/shrub roses I am being patient.

I am not cutting my plants back at all since I would like them to develop some structure and become bushy shrubs.

Let me know how yours are doing!

'Birthday Girl' is amazing own-root, if you still want to try something battle-proven as an own-root from this lineage.

Kind of wondering if this rose is Excellenz von Schubert x Francais, but I am not quite sure (mixed sentiments) and I don't think we will ever know.

I wish we knew E. von S. and Centenaire de Lourdes ploidy.
