‘Command Performance’ = Hybride de Thé. Rouge orangé uni… éclôt avec un cœur élancé, puis ses pétales s’arquent vert l’arrière en formant des pointes qui la changent en étoile… grand rosier robuste et florifère, au feuillage sombre et coriace. Naguère très en vogue, il reste un bon rosier pour massifs, à multiplier par écussonnage. Lindquist, US, 1970.

Dr. A. S. Thomas,  Victoria. Some of the New Ones.
Command Performance, HT. (Lindquist, 1970) ('Super Star' x 'Hawaii'). Medium-sized vermilion blooms. Every bloom splits in the spring. They do so less regularly in the Autumn when they are quite small. Very tall growth (about three metres). Very prone to mildew and black spot. I threw out all three of my plants after two years' trial.

Dr. Thomas, Victoria.  The New Ones.
Command Performance, HT. (Lindquist, 1970) has a very vigorous healthy plant producing big bright vermilion flowers on long stiff stems. It is a little darker than 'Super Star' and 'Hawaii' but not as dark as 'Duftwolke'. The petals reflex attractively. Many flowers split in the spring but New Zealanders (they have had it for three years) and Americans tell me that it does not have this fault in the autumn. Its habit of growth, as seen in large numbers in New Zealand last November, and as promises on my young plants is ideal and it is not prone to disease. A beauty!

Roy and Heather Rumsey,  NSW.  New Roses.
Command Performance HT. (Lindquist). Vermilion orange with a long bud and a good open flower. The number of petals is variable, but around 35 would be the average. Good long stems and upright growth. One of the better roses for this year, the only doubt being some split centres. Strong fragrance, abundant continuous bloom and excellent growth. ('Super Star' x 'Hawaii'.)
