Introduced in France by Savoureux in circa 1828 as 'Comte Foy'.
Class:
Gallica / Provins.  
Bloom:
Pink, lighter outer petals, violet shading, ages to darker .  Mild fragrance.  Average diameter 5".  Very large, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, cupped, globular, quartered bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Few or no prickles/thorns.  

Height: 47" (120cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 8b.  Prune after flowering is finished.

Various authors of the 20th century confused the variegated 'Comte de Foy' with the pink 'Comte de Foy' (also named "de Rouen" for distinguishing.
