...Given ten more years then, these are the ten roses I would try again... Confidence (HT, Meilland 1951). I love the long, strong stems of this rose.  Its petals of creamy pink were of great substance.  With these two plusses, I'd certainly want to try Confidence again.

‘Confidence’ = Hybride de Thé… gros bouton en ogive… grande fleur à 38 pétales, haute et galbée, rose nacré effleuré de jaune à la base, doucement odorante… buisson à port droit, au feuillage sombre et coriace, de bonne résistance aux maladies… Meilland, France, 1951.

It was the first successful variety to be bred from the enormously popular 'Peace' although it performs better in hot, dry climates, appreciating neither wet weather nor hard pruning...

Confidence ....the plants are average in height, perhaps a little less, and the foliage is dark green and leathery.  'Confidence' is happiest in a dry climate as its flowers do not stand up at all well to rain.....
