Rosa x coryana /’Coryana’ /Rosa macrophylla x Rosa roxburghii = Arbuste vigoureux pouvant s’élever à 2m50,… se distingue par son écorce brun-rouge et ses aiguillons d’un ton plus clair, épais et trapus… feuilles vert foncé à nervation profonde, légèrement pubescentes,… 5 à 15 folioles en ovale étroit. Ses églantines rose pâle écloses en début d’été sont rarement suivies de fruits. Rosier de collection plutôt que de jardin, cet hybride est parfois classé parmi les arbustes modernes. Grande-Bretagne 1926.

In 1926 Dr Hurst raised from open-pollinated seed from Kew a seedling of R. roxburghii which was subsequently named 'Coryana' in 1939. ... The flowers are borne with a horizontal poise as in R. macrophylla and are of rich dark pink with yellow stamens: they open wide and flat.

Rosa x coryana Hurst. This hybrid between R. roxburghii and probably, R. macrophylla was raised by Dr. C. C. Hurst at Cambridge Botanic Gardens in 1926, and named after Reginald Cory who made a large bequest to the garden. It makes a dense bush up to 2 m high, with smooth stems and very bristly pedicels and ovaries. Flowers produced in June and July, with little scent.

Coryana (1818). This is a hybrid between R. macrophylla and R. roxburghii. My plant grows 2.5 to 3 metres high and has cerise-pink single flowers with profuse yellow stamens. Beautiful fern-like foliage and blossoms in summer only. Attractive upright growth.
