My Crazy Dottie has been in a 15" diameter pot since June 2015, in a southern exposure (US hardiness zone 7b).. I bought it as a band from Heirloom Roses. It is now 20" wide by 18" tall. At another source I found it is predicted to grow 2' x 2', so mine is on track. The color is an odd orange pink which is what I love about it. I think the fact that blooms are single shows off the color better than more petals would. It is a very healthy looking shrub and blooms a lot. I don't spray. I do use organic ferts and amendments like compost, Mills Mix, seaweed, fish emulsion. I'm not as good about feeding as I should be but this little rose doesn't seem to care. I entered Crazy Dottie into our local rose show last May and was pleased when it won a best in class award. I'm not a serious exhibitor like most of the people who enter our rose show, but sometimes the rose itself does all the work!
Feb. 23, 2018- after a harsh 2017-18 winter in northern Alabama, many very cold nights, I lost 5 or 6 of my 13 potted roses (minis or floribundas); a lot of dieback on the others, including Crazy Dottie, but what is left looks healthy and has new growth.
