Origin:
Bred by Joseph Bonnaire (France, 1884).
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in before 1894 as 'Docteur Grill'.
Class:
Tea.  
Bloom:
Copper, center, salmon-pink highlights, pink reverse, ages to pink .  Tea fragrance.  Small to medium, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, globular, high-centered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:

Height: 3' to 42" (90 to 105cm).  Width: 3' (90cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Pierre Guillot states that 'Dr. Grill' is a descendant of 'Safrano'.- see References.
'Dr. Grill' in USA is not the original rose. 'Mme Lombard' is sold in Europe sometimes as 'Dr. Grill'.
Walter Branchi says another name for this rose is Dulce Bella. It is dedicated to Dr. Grill, a great lover of roses...
