Bred by Jean Laffay (France, 1824).

Light pink.  Strong fragrance.  Medium, full (26-40 petals) bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Height of 39" to 5' (100 to 150 cm).  Width of up to 3' (up to 90 cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 8b.  Prune after flowering is finished.

The Swedish Rose Society recommends Duchesse de Montebello for northern Sweden. In their 2002 Catalogue, Pépinières Loubert assign a date of 1824.
