Origin:
Bred by Francis Meilland (1912-1958) (France, before 1935).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1939 as 'Ampère'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea, Pernetiana.  
Bloom:
Orange-red, lighter edges, yellow reverse, orange shading, ages to pink .  Strong fragrance.  Very large, very full (41+ petals) bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Few or no prickles/thorns.  Glossy, medium green, dense foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
