Origin:
Bred by Alexander Dickson II (1857-1949) (United Kingdom, before 1919).
Introduced in France by Grandes Roseraies du Val de la Loire in 1919 as 'Captain Bald'.
Introduced in Australia by H. Kemp in 1920 as 'Capt. F. Bald'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Scarlet - crimson, darker shading.  Moderate fragrance.  Large, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, globular, scalloped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Bushy, upright.  Wrinkled (rugose) foliage.  

Height: up to 28" (up to 70cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Hardy.
