Book (1951) p18. Harry H. Hazlewood. The New Roses of 1951. Provence (Paolini, 1945). Apricot flushed pink at edges and a deeper reverse. A good clean grower with semi-double to double bloom of 35 petals.
p136. Dr. A. S. Thomas. An Outstanding Year for Novelties Provence: The first four flowers were of deep copper colour without shadings. Carried erect on long, thin, hard stems, they were very beautiful and opened slipoely ro blooms of unusual exhibition quality on such a young plant. Side shoots from the stems of the early flowers were well advanced before the first blooms opened. Each of the second crop of seven flowers has been quite different from those of the earlier crop. These have been very like Mme. Jean Gaujard with the reflexing petals deep orange on the outside and soft buff yellow on the inside. A lovely rose.
