 | May 2022 SE England Uploaded 19 MAY 22 | Early July 2021, SE England. I grow my plant in a pot and tied to a small obelisk, as the habit with me (so far) is semi-prostrate. It is very floriferous: perhaps the only rose I grow that is genuinely a continuous bloomer rather than a good repeater. Uploaded 3 JUL 21 |

 | Mid May 2022, SE England. Sometimes the buds can come out bull-nosed, but at their best they are very pointed. This year they seem particularly large and long, with spiralling petals that look like they're made of crushed silk or crepe paper. I have been sniffing the buds all day long with disappointing results (it's a windy day and the buds are still quite tight), but finally, at about 6.30pm, I gently blew into one of them to tease it open and a strong scent of very sweet tea was released, which I know from past years, in certain conditions, can come through as gardenia-like.
