There are two more roses by the name "Lorna Doone".
One is a Floribunda raised by Harkness in 1970. Medium height. Parentage: 'Red Dandy' X 'Lilli Marlene'.
The other is a ROR that was found near a cottage in the city of Warwick in southern Queensland, Australia. Flowers creamy yellow, a climbing(?) tea rose. The cottage was owned by a lady named Lorna, hence the rose name. The true identity of this rose still has not been established.

I will try to obtain some photos of "Lorna Doone" ROR. I have established that it is a semi-climbing tea rose or Gigantea hybrid, growing to about 2 metres. It can be trained into a large sprawling shrub. Very free flowering in spring/summer. I understand that the rose is being investigated by the Heritage Rose Society in South Australia so that its actual identity can be established. I will post up more information when this becomes available to me. As for the Harkness Floribunda named "Lorna Doone". I do not have any photos of this rose. It appears in a list in "The Roses of the Botanical Rose Garden Carla Fineschi: Taxonomic Catalogue" by G. Fineschi on page 121. A photo appears in the publication "Roses" by R. Phillips and M. Rix, Macmillan, 1994, page 176. It is a bright red Floribunda rose of moderate height.
