Bonfire Breeder: Eugene Turbat, 1928, France.  Parentage 'Turner's Crimson Rambler' x R. Wichurana (reportedly).  Class: hybrid wichurana.  This rose has double, small bright crimson flowers in medium, elongated clusters.  The petal reverse is lighter.  The petals may show some quartering.  This plant has glossy foliage, good resistance to mildew and vigorous growth to 20 feet (6 meters).

‘Bonfire’ = Grimpant liane. Feu de joie d’un rouge éclatant pour ce grimpant à fleurs groupées, chacune de 20 à 25 pétales. Vanté à ses débuts pour sa résistance à l’oïdium…, il est aujourd’hui devenu presque introuvable. Turbat France 1928.
