'Silvia' HT. (F. R. Pierson, 1920) Sport of 'Ophelia'. Bud large, long-pointed; flower large, double, open, very lasting, intensely fragrant, sulphur-yellow shading to white, borne singly on long, strong stem. Foliage sufficient, large, rich green, leathery, mildews and black-spots slightly. Few thorns. Growth vigorous, upright; abundant, continuous bloomer all season. Improvement on 'Ophelia' in foliage and long-pointed bud.

Silvia (Yellow Ophelia) is also a sport of Ophelia. This variety is a remarkably strong grower, with foliage larger than that of Ophelia. The buds are long and pointed, and a beautiful sulphur-yellow, changing to creamy yellow as the flower opens. When fully open the flower resembles a magnified Silver Moon.
