The parentage of this rose is seedling of Excelsa, according to Walter Easlea's notes on the margin of The Rosenlexicon which is now owned by the curator of the San Jose Heritage Rose Garden. See the Central Coast Heritage Rose Group webpage at http://members.cruzio.com/~perry/easlea

I really can't find much on this rose. How tall/wide does it get and when (and how much) should it be pruned? ANY information on this rose would be nice.

The Old Rosarian
Romero is a medium climber that produces small clusters of deep red small flowers. It is vigorous but the growth is lax so you can wrap the canes around an arch. It doesn't need to be pruned unless it outgrows it's allotted space but you need to watch out for mildew on this rose as it is very prone to it.
