[From "Die amerikanischen Rosen" by L. v. Nagy, pp. 261-265]
11. Queens Scarlet (Eine Bengalrose, Hallock & Thorpe 1880).

Translation:
11. Queens Scarlet (A China Rose, Hallock & Thorpe 1880). scarlet, quite heavily filled; a prolific bloomer; one of the best garden varieties. It almost seems as if this is the same variety as Agrippina; It is considered by many to be an improvement on this old variety; because the growth of Agrippina is more sparse and the colouring is not as bright as that of Queen's Scarlet. In America, Agrippina is crossed out in the directories everywhere and Queen's Scarlet is left instead.

[From "Our American Roses", by D. T. Connor, Collingdale, Pa. pp. 678-679:]
Queen's Scarlet, (Beng.; Hallock & Thorpe, 1880). A rich velvety scarlet; moderately full, a good bloomer, one of our best garden sorts. By some this rose is said to be the same as Aggripina. The writer believes this to be an improvement on the old sort. The growth of Aggripina is more straggly and the color is not as good as in Queen's Scarlet. We should catalogue Queen's Scarlet and discard Aggripina.
