HelpMeFind's future is in your hands - Please do not take this unique resource for granted.
Your support of HelpMeFind is urgently needed. HelpMeFind, like all websites, needs funding to survive. We have set a premium-membership yearly subscription amount as low as possible to make user-community funding viable.
We are grateful to the many members who have signed up so far, but the number of premium-membership members remains too small for us to sustain the current support and development level. If you value HelpMeFind and want to see it continue we need your support too.
Yearly membership is only $2.00 per month and adds a host of additional features, and numerous planned enhancements, to take full advantage of the power and convenience of HelpMeFind. Click here to start your premium membership..
We of course also welcome donations of any amount. Click here to make a donation. Donations of $24 or more receive a thank-you gift of a 1-year premium membership.
As far as we have come, we feel HelpMeFind is still in its infancy. With your support we have so much more to accomplish.
Book (Apr 1993) Page(s) 312. Liberty Bell Hybrid Tea, pink blend, 1963, ('Freiheitsglocke'); Kordes, R. Description.
Book (1966) Page(s) 112. Dr. A. S. Thomas. New Roses in Victoria. Liberty Bell HT. (R. Kordes, 1963) More correctly 'Freiheitsglocke'. 'Schlosser's Brillant' x 'Kordes' Perfecta'. Huge red and cream bicoloured blooms of fifty petals opening to six inches in diameter. It can be very coarse in the Spring. Strong growth. Little perfume. Not recommended as a "garden" or "decorative" rose.
Magazine (Feb 1965) Page(s) 1. trimester, p. 14. Liste des VARIETES NOUVELLES éditées en FRANCE et enregistrées par le Syndicat National des Producteurs de Nouveautés au 31 Décembre 1964.... Rosa H Th KORli 0329 F D, 1955, Liberty Bell, Lieu et numéro d'enregistrement en France Paris 81 384, No d'enregistrement international - , Obtenteur Kordes, Editeur N.I.R.P.
Book (1965) p15. Roy and Heather Rumsey, NSW. New Roses. Liberty Bell HT. (R. Kordes) A bit of a disappointment. This rose is a pink with 'Kordes' Perfecta' type of growth. Nowhere near as good as 'Isabel de Ortiz'. We use the English name instead of "Freiheitsglocke'. ('Schlosser's Brillant' x 'Kordes' Perfecta').
p84. Dr. A. S. Thomas, New Roses in Victoria. Liberty Bell HT. (Kordes, 1963) 'Schlosser's Brillant' x 'Kordes' Perfecta'. The raiser lists this rose under this name and as 'Freiheitsglocke'. This is against all rules but it seems that 'Liberty Bell' is to be recognised as the name. A huge bicolour which can be gross or, when a little smaller, most attractive. I dislike most bicolours, but this one appeals. Cardinal red (Horticultural Colour Chart of the R.H.S.) on the inside of each petal and a. lighter colouring (almost pink and gold) on the reverse. A fine show rose. Faintly perfumed. Strong plant.
