[From Some Thoughts on Rose Classification, by Jack Harkness:] My firm raised a pretty rose called 'Grace Abounding', and following the seedling number on the label, we introduced it as having been raised from 'Pink Parfait' x 'Circus'. I was in the habit of checking out breeding records, a regular audit they got, labels, record cards, seed pods, pollen, how did ten crosses come to give twelve seed pods? I found that 'Grace Abounding' was really from 'Pink Parfait' x 'Penelope'.
