Dr. A. S. Thomas.  Yellow Roses.
Leontine Contenot has escaped adequate notice. It is a light yellow of beautiful form, free blooming and strong growing. In some ways it resembles Fontanelle though this rose is on most occasions much darker.
Book  (1947)  Page(s) 109.

Mr. S. J. Bisdee.  Tasmanian Notes.
Leontine Contenot has improved out of sight with the wet season and is first class. It has opened well in our cold spring, which is unusual here with creams and whites. The yellow comes up in the centre when the weather warms up. The bloom is shapely and has plenty of substance, and the plant is very healthy.
Book  (1944)  Page(s) 71.

Terry Honeybun. Victoria
Leontine Contenot: Like Barkis, is willing to give one any amount of fine shaped yellow blooms, paler at the edges. Health and foliage are very good
Book  (1942)  Page(s) 83.

Mr. S. J. Bisdee. Tasmanian Roses.
Leontine Contenot: So far, almost white and a little yellow in centre in hot weather. Excellent form and carriage; good growth and foliage.
Book  (1939)  Page(s) 133.

Mr John Poulsen, NZ.  Canterbury Roses
Leontine Contenot.- Moderate growth, but flowering freely. The best colour has been creamy yellow, and it looks as if it would be more at home in a warmer climate.
Book  (1938)  Page(s) 120.

Mr C. W. Heers.  Roses in Queensland
Leontine Contenot.-This variety brought with it a glowing pedigree, and whilst the descriptive colours are seen in the early formation, which is quite good, the colour gradually turns to an ordinary looking yellow.
Website/Catalog  (1938)  Page(s) 27.

New Roses 1937. Leontine Contenot (HT.  Ketten Bros. 1935) 3. .....sunflower yellow.  The growth is good and the variety has improved considerably on its first performances.  E.
Book  (1937)

p18.  Harry H. Hazlewood.  The New Roses of 1937.
Leontine Contenot, HT. (Ketten Bros., 1935) Up to date this variety has not been impressive. The colour is medium yellow, while 40-50 petals build up a rather ordinary Rose.

p116.  Allan A. Brundrett.  A Victorian Review of the Season's Novelties.
Leontine Contenot, H.T. (Ketten). This variety is promising as a general purpose Rose. It has 30 to 40 petals and is a nice shade of Sunflower yellow. It has won several awards. The growth, however, so far is rather poor.

p119.  Mr. S. R. Bird, N.Z.  Some Auckland Rose Notes.
Leontine Contenot (Joanna Hill and Claudius Pernet) promises well, with its soft, yellow decorative buds, which will be useful for vase work.
