Banzai HT. (Meilland, 1961). 'Radar' x 'Caprice'. It has 30 deep pink to light red petals with a lot of deep cream toward their bases. The form is good but fleeting. Bushy plant. The young foliage is deep red. The hybridist is Mme. Marie-Louisette Meilland, widow of Francis Meilland. She did most of the hybridising in the last few years of her husband's life.
