Book (May 1992) Page(s) 37. [Peter Beales' first rose was] 'Pinta' in 1973, a shapely, smallish-flowered creamy-white with Sweet Briar perfume. It came as a big surprise since, at the time, [Beales] was seeking a red.
Website/Catalog (1982) Page(s) 47. Pinta This rose fills a gap amongst the white roses. Although classified as a H.T. because of its parentage and shape of flower, It would undoubtedly be at home amongst the floribundas with its quantity and continuity of bloom. The colour, a unique blend of pure white to creamy yellow is not hard on the eye as are so many whites. Although the size of each bloom is not large, it has a perfect bud, with a very lovely scrolling effect as it unfolds. The scent, especially in the evening, is distinctly sweet briar. The growth is medium/short with healthy, leathery, dark green foliage. Medium. Beales 1973
