Bred by Samuel Davidson McGredy III (United Kingdom, 1934).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1937 as 'McGredy's Pride'.

Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Apricot and coral-pink, golden-yellow shading, yellow reverse, light pink flecks.  Moderate fragrance.  Very large, double (17-25 petals), high-centered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Upright.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

The US patent of this rose reports that the inventor was Walter Irwin Johnston, Portadown, Ireland, as Samuel McGredy III died in November 1934 and was succeeded by Walter Johnston.
