Bred by Samuel Davidson McGredy III (United Kingdom, before 1934).
Introduced in United Kingdom by Samuel McGredy and Son, Nurserymen (Northern Ireland) in 1937 as 'Sam McGredy'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1938 as 'Sam McGredy'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Cream, gold center, tan center.  Moderate fragrance.  Very large, double (17-25 petals), high-centered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles, upright.  Reddish-purple foliage.

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
