Bred by Marie-Louise (aka Widow,Vve) Schwartz (France, 1889).

Hybrid Rugosa, Shrub.

Carmine-red.  Strong fragrance.  Large, double (17-25 petals), in small clusters, cupped bloom form.  Spring or summer flush with scattered later bloom.  
Habit:
Dense, thornless (or almost).  
Height of 3' (90 cm).  Width of 3' (90 cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Vigorous.  
Notes:
Charles Frederick Worth (November 13, 1826 Bourne - March 10, 1895 Paris), English fashion designer, who emigrated 1845 to Paris and opened 1858 his own fashion house, is considered the Father of Haute Couture. He married Marie Vernet, one of the models of his first Parisian employers, Gagelin and Opigiez.
