Book (2008) Page(s) 96. Lisa Mueller. When it Comes To Showtime. My Girl' - I love this rose for showing. I have only had this one for two seasons, but already it is a must have. The rose itself is a beautiful pink, opens out to the most amazing form and floats in a brandy glass like no other rose I have tried.

Another interesting rose from Sam McGredy with beautiful satin pink flowers that have very good form but the stems are too short for exhibiting. Looks great in a basket, very healthy, one for the front of the bed with its spreading, medium height. Another must have rose.

Exhibition rating 7.4. 19 bushes. 11 reports. Some health problems. Light fragrance. Medium height. Satin pink flowers. North Otago - everyone loves the colour. Good for picking, great to have in the garden. Can get blackspot. Otago - plants have looked fabulous in the garden. Very healthy, lovely colour with plenty of flowers. Waikato calls it a great little garden rose. Ladies at retirement village love it. Hutt Valley - strong short growth, bright pink well formed blooms. Looks lovely in baskets. Te Awamutu - short stems, large flowers and large heads but stems too short for exhibiting. Always in flower. BOP - the blooms sparkle and have long life, very little fading. Mid matt green foliage, good repeat.
Book (2003) Page(s) 35. Riet de Boer. Five Favourite Roses. My Girl - hybrid tea - this is a favourite rose because it produces such lovely satin pink blooms which have a perfect form with a lot of petals. They last very well in the vase.

McGredy 1998; 'Northland' x 'Big Purple'. 12 reports on 18 bushes; 1-3 years; 0.9 metres; 7.5 rating. Satin pink flowers. Marlborough say a good garden rose, healthy with a good repeat. North Otago have a small bush, healthy, lovely rose which holds well. Waikato find the growth low and spreading, fragrant. Blooms have circular form. Canterbury have large exhibition blooms and an eye-catching colour, no fading but average repeat. Another Waikato grower says very floriferous, a great garden rose and love the colour. Bay of Plenty finds it slow to establish with beautiful blooms of good size that last, healthy. North Otago has perfect form and a pretty colour but a slow repeat.

A lovely garden rose with no vices. North Otago have a small bush, healthy, lovely rose which holds well. Otorohanga found no disease on a healthy bush. Lovely blooms but repeat is slowish. Hutt Valley find it a good garden rose which could make good fully open blooms. Waikato find it a lovely colour and lots of blooms. Healthy plus. A great garden rose. Produces candelabras as season progresses.

Marlborough like this one. A lovely garden rose with quick repeat. North Otago have a small bush, but every bloom is good. They, too, state: I like this one. Otorohanga found no disease on a healthy bush. They love the colour and form, but didn't get too many flowers. Let's have more reports on this one.
