New Roses 1928. Laddie (HT.  G. Beckwith & Son, 1926) This new and pretty rose is of the ‘Betty Uprichard’ type, but in many respects is better than that variety. Colour is deep cochineal carmine flushed orange and scarlet with an orange base. Colour fades in the old flowers to a rosy carmine. Flowers are well formed, similar to ‘Betty Uprichard’ at its best, but more full. Very free flowering and perpetual. Very free and bushy habit, breaking freely from the base. Thick dark green foliage of good texture. Few thorns, long stiff stems carrying flowers well.
Arrived late. No flowers so far.
