This rose has died at L'Hay, The Guillot form is incorrect. Etienne Bouret's picture was taken before it died

Does it still exist in Gap-Charance and is it the original there? It would be important to safeguard copies if its is.

I don't Know, it would be good if they had received their plant from L'Hay prior to 2006. At least we have Etiennes picture for ID.

unfortunately, I have just received this from Gap-Charence: "Suite à votre demande qui m’est parvenu par le Conservatoire Botanique National Alpin concernant la rose « Alix Reusel » nous ne pouvons donner suite, cette variété ayant disparu de notre collection."

This shows how important it is to have rare roses planted in several gardens outside the official rosaries.

Agree. If every private gardener took it upon themselves to safeguard just one rare old rose, with provenance, and which does well in your area, the losses will be greatly minimised in the future. The rose itself will give you your reward.
