Bred by Gerrit De Ruiter (Netherlands, before 1954).
Introduced in United States by Conard-Pyle (Star Roses) in 1954 as 'Red Wonder'.
Introduced in United Kingdom by Samuel McGredy and Son, Nurserymen (Northern Ireland) in 1955 as 'Red Wonder'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1957 as 'Red Wonder'.

Bloom:
Carmine-red, crimson shading.  Moderate fragrance.  25 to 30 petals.  Average diameter 3.25".  Medium to large, very double, in large clusters, cupped, open bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Bushy.  Semi-glossy, leathery foliage.
