Origin:

Bred by Samuel Darragh (1932-2019) McGredy IV (1985).
Introduced in New Zealand by McGredy Roses International (New Zealand) in 1997 as 'Painted Desert'.

Class:

Grandiflora.

Bloom:

Orange or orange-red. Mild fragrance. 25 petals. Average diameter 4". Large, double (17-25 petals), cluster-flowered, in small clusters bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

Habit:

Medium, bushy, upright. Large, medium green foliage.

Height: 43" (110cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 7b and warmer. Can be used for beds and borders, cut flower or garden. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that. Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .
