Mme. Hector Leuillot HT. (Pernet-Ducher, 1902). Climbing Tea. Once a favorite in Dr. Huey's Philadelphia garden, although canes winter-killed to some extent with him. Hard to establish in southern climates but worth extra effort. Produces in its second year distinct and lovely double blooms of orange-yellow, sometimes splashed with crimson; good cutting value; exquisite perfume.

The Tea section must also come in for notice in an article where we are dealing with Roses that are capable of forming large bushes that can vie with flowering shrubs in landscape work.....but one of the best was Mme. Hector Leuilliot This was a good grower, and I had some fine examples of it ten years ago in East Lothian. The colour was a striking combination of orange and carmine..... 'Mme. Jules Gravereaux too, is also worthy of notice where large bushes are the aim of the planter.
