Faience: Is a blending of golds and pinks that make a very pleasing rose. The shape and health are good. Has surely been overlooked

p88.  Mr. T. G. Stewart.  Decorative Varieties of Merit
Faience: This variety should be far better known. The colour is a combination of peach-apricot and yellow. The growth is excellent, the bloom full-bodied, and it is a free bloomer. Unfortunately, artificial light such as that in the Melbourne Town Hall kills it, but as grown in the garden it is outstanding.  It is a garden Rose and would be suitable for bunches but not for specimen blooms.

Bush Roses
Faience (Hybrid Tea)... Mixed colour of peach and apricot, reverse of the petals is pure yellow, and this contrast of colours gives a great attraction to the well-formed bud and the large flowers. Habit as "Charles P. Kilham" but stronger. Continuous flowering. With us, "Faience" has proved to be the best of this fancy colour section. Recommended. Introduced 1936.

Faience (or Fayence), HT. (Van Rossem, 1935) A very attractive variety, with 35 petals, but only moderate growth so far. It may improve in this respect and, if so, will be very popular.

New Roses 1937. Faience (HT.  Van Rossem 1935) This variety has the habit of 'Charles P. Kilham', but stronger, with clear green, healthy, leathery foliage. The flowers have a wonderful mixed colour of peach and apricot. The reverse of the petals is pure yellow, and this contrast of colours gives a great attraction to the well formed bud and the half opened flower. When expanded, the large, full flowers shade off to a most mixed colour of peach and apricot. 4/- each.
Inside petals coppery red, outside yellow flushed coppery pink. Moderate growth: 35 petals.
