Arvid`s garden, Lista, southwestern coast of Norway, the 13th of August 2010. Although there have been fewer flowers this year, there has at least been nothing of the nasty prolification.

Arvid`s garden Lista southwestern coast of Norway July 2008. This is not a good rose in my garden. Balling and prolification tend to ruin many of the flowers. Deadheading of the first inflicted flowers and buds to appear seems to help improve the quality of the rest. Given the experience I now have, I would not have planted this rose today.

Arvid`s garden, Lista, southwestern coast of Norway, July 2009. I never imagined I would have the chance to to take enough photos to be able to upload three of perfectly shaped flowers of this rose. But here they are presenting themselves at their best; not to mention all the "disfigured" ones along the way. In this photo it is seen surrounded by the white flowers of Mme Plantier and a little pinkish one of the recently planted rambler Francois Juranville. A little patch of a flower of the clematis Rouge Cardinal is aso visible,

Arvid`s garden Lista, Southwestern coast of Norway, July 2009. When uploading the photo last year I said that with the experience I now have I would not have planted this rose today. However when once in a blue moon a beautiful flower like this appears I kind of wonder if it is not worth the irritation over misshapen flowers after all.
