Bred by Francois Dorieux II (1955-2015) (France, 1992).
Introduced in France by Establissement J. Renoard in 1995 as 'Melody Parfumée'.
Introduced in United States by Bear Creek Gardens, Inc. in 1999 as 'Melody Parfumée'.
Class:
Grandiflora.  
Bloom:
Dark purple, lavender shading.  Dark lavender-plum with lighter reverse.  Strong, clove, damask, lemon, old rose fragrance.  25 to 30 petals.  Average diameter 4.5".  Large, full (26-40 petals), cluster-flowered, in large clusters, high-centered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Medium, bushy, upright.  Medium, semi-glossy, dark green foliage.  

Height: 4' to 5' (120 to 150cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 5b and warmer.  Can be used for beds and borders, cut flower or garden.  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to blackspot , mildew resistant, rust resistant.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .  Can be grown in the ground or in a container (container requires winter protection).
