Ok my decision is taken , after 3 years of fight with black spot on my Abraham Darby , I decide to remove it from my garden . I am going with a no spray garden rose and this is a black spot magnet ! Very sad because I loved it flowers and fragrance but I am happy I took this decision . I will replace it with Princesse Charlene de Monaco , which is as beautiful and never have black spot and has a very good fragrance .

Maybe that's my favourite English Rose. I have a two-years old plant (on R. multiflora rootstock) grown in a 7-gallon container in a full-sun position. It forms a dense, short shrub. Stems are armed with large, red thorns. Very attractive dense, glossy leaves. Very continuously flowering, flower quality is OK in a rainy summer with almost no maintenance. Exceptional large, splendid, fragrant flowers with tender yellowish-pink color. Susceptible to blackspot but mended quickly when sprayed. Very vigorous growth but seems difficult to form a climber.

My Abraham Darby has canes so big my hands no longer fit around them. I planted it in 2015.
