A rose which is a survivor (used to be common on roadsides in damper areas of the Adelaide Hills) is known as Anais Segalas in Australia and NZ. However we've been told that it's incorrect. It looks like the found rose shown in photo 195671. It is in mauve shades, paling a little with age, and difficult to reproduce with a digital camera. Lovely scent, spring-only, suckers and clambers through other plants. Mine doesn't set hips. It has some bristles but not much in the way of prickles.

For the Heritage Roses in Australia index, are you referring to "Evandale Workman’s Cottage"?
If so, I need to mark it - Not Anais Segalas.

From Pat's description, I suppose that's it.

This "incorrect rose" reminds me of my unknown gallica (brittany, France). Where can I find the photo 195671 please ? Is it in the found rose section ?
Thank you Margaret.

helpmefind.com/rose/l.php?l=21.195671 under Anais Segalas. Reading early references, I'm not certain that the Aus / NZ rose is incorrect. Whatever it is, it's lovely.
