Bred by Unknown Dutch origin (Netherlands, before 1811).
Class:
Gallica / Provins.  
Bloom:
Purple to violet-red.  Medium, full (26-40 petals), in small clusters, button-eye, flat bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Thornless (or almost), upright.  Medium green foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Notes:
According to Hardy (see references), Ombre Superbe is synonymous with Superbe en brun.
