Though this rose may have been bred in 1938, or first bloomed then, there is nothing to suggest that it was introduced in that year.

Its name meaning "In Memory of Franz Heinsohn," it should be noted that Heinsohn died June 10, 1950; thus likely the rose was introduced under that name in that year or shortly thereafter. See p. 38 of the book "The Early Floribundas."
