Heps ovoid, red tinged with orange at maturity, very foetid when bruised... Discovered by Bastard on the banks fo the Loire... According to Bastard it is very rare both in the wild and in cultivation. It was introduced by Le Meunier, and should not be confused with R. foetida Herrm. or Allion.
