Frank Mason. Some Newer Roses in New Zealand.
'Courage', HT, is a Rose that does very well. It is a dwarf grower, but one of the most profuse bloomers that we have got, and would be an ideal Rose to make a bed of. It keeps its colour well and many of the blooms are quite fit for Exhibition.
Magazine  (1925)  Page(s) 6.

Courage, H.T. (S. McGredy and Son).- Good growth, not too rank. Large blooms, dark red, described as similar to old H.P. Duke of Wellington. A good description, too, for colour and growth, but has a freedom of bloom as with the modern hybrid teas. Blooms are a good shape, large and full. Very fragrant, bright, 18 ins., foliage good, large leaves, good autumn bloom. A very promising bedding rose.
