'Little Pearl' (SUNpearl); Schuurman 1992; 'Innocentie' x 'Firefly'; pearly pink; 33 reports on 45 bushes; 70cm; 7.4 rating. From the same stable as 'Little Opal' and 'Little Nugget', but perhaps not quite so well known. The soft salmon pink flowers are of exhibition form. There have been some reports of spider mites and rain damage to the blooms, but most report a plant of medium vigour, healthy, and with pretty flowers that are good for showing.

Gerard Williams. Review of the Newer Roses for the 1998-1999 Season.
'Little Pearl'. (SUNpearl) Schuurman 1992; 'Innocentie' x 'Firefly'; pearly pink; 8 reports on 10 bushes;
67cms; 7.3 rating. From the same stable as 'Little Opal' and 'Little Nugget'. Soft salmon pink exhibition blooms. North Otago finds it does well despite dryness. Canterbury liked the pretty exhibition blooms but felt there were not enough of them. North Harbour says beautiful show blooms but the bush doesn't perform. Napier says the clear pink flowers hold well. Northland found they had nice exhibition blooms in the autumn so they bought another plant. North Otago prefers 'Little Opal'. Manawatu felt it was an average rose with exhibition blooms. The blooms fade and can burn badly, it also spots in the rain.

Nola Simpson. Review of Newer Roses for 1997-98 Season.
'Little Pearl' (SUNpearl): Schuurman 1992; 'Innocentie' x 'Firefly'; pearly pink; 5 reports on 8 bushes; 1-4 years; 70 cms; 7.4 rating. Not as well known as 'Little Opal' and 'Little Nugget' but from the same stable and quite a nice little rose in its own right, the blooms are of exhibition form in a lovely soft salmon pink coloring. Kaitaia says blooms are beautiful but are sparse and the plant has average health. Bay of Plenty reports clean soft coral pink blooms of good form, bad fading, mostly healthy with average repeat. North Harbour says fairly healthy except for downy mildew in the spring, lovely exhibition blooms, goose necks sometimes. Canterbury likes the blooms but there are too few of them and mites ravage it.

Nola Simpson. Review of Newer Roses for 1996-97 Season.
'Little Pearl' (SUNpearl); Schuurman 1992; 'Innocentie' x 'Firefly'; pearly pink; 6 reports on 8 bushes; 1-3 years; 65 cms; 7.8 rating. Not widely grown or as well known as 'Little Opal' and 'Little Nugget', but good ratings once again. Bay of Plenty says soft coral pink, good form and leaf placement, fades badly, some downy mildew. Kaitaia considers it really beautiful, grows in a pot with afternoon shade, coral apricot shade. North Harbour says lovely rose, exhibition, lovely dark foliage and colour, healthy slight powdery mildew. Northland thinks very ordinary, and Auckland says it needs shade, exhibition, decorative, healthy. My friend from Manawatu still waxing lyrical, although tempered against opening fast and slow repeat.

'Little Pearl' (SUNpearl); Schuurman 1992; 'Innocentie' x 'Firefly'; Pearly pink; 5 reports on 7 bushes; 1-2 years; 40cms; 8.0 rating. Not as well known as 'Little Opal' and 'Little Nugget', but nevertheless an attractive little rose as the rating indicates. A Manawatu grower waxes lyrical about it as follows upright, healthy dark foliage, blooms exhibition in a waxen pearl pink colour (like Sonia Meilland). Can be shown as an exhibition, very promising rose indeed. Bay of Plenty has had some downy mildew, medium coral pink, good form, one/stem, average repeat. Wellington finds it blows quickly and another Manawatu grower says it is a promising exhibition, spots badly in the rain, nice dark foliage to complement the blooms, not as large as 'Little Opal'.
