Mr. And Mrs. C. A. Homan.  The New Roses in Queensland.
Prima Donna. This is a new rose with a very unique and beautiful colour. The medium sized double blooms are a rich coppery orange shading to vermilion. From the high pointed centre the petals reflex evenly making a splendidly shaped flower which, when the bush is fully established will be of high exhibition standard. The very dark glossy green foliage is an added attraction and with plenty of blooms, no mildew or black spot, and good growth, this rose seems well worthy of a place in the garden for any purpose.
Book  (1949)  Page(s) 43.

Dr. A. S. Thomas.  Let Us Take Stock - Old and New
Prima Donna (3 plants, 1 year). Reminds me of Picture but its petals are thicker and it has an orange tinge. If it comes a little larger on older plants it will be well up to our double-purpose standard. Good clean growth.
Website/Catalog  (1949)  Page(s) 9.

Novelty Roses 1949. Prima Donna (HT. A. Dickson 1947) Long, graceful buds of coppery orange, suitable for garden decoration. 35 petals, and particularly good in autumn. Must not be confused with the 'Prima Donna' sent out by W. Paul in 1917. Very good. 5/- each.
Book  (1947)  Page(s) 128.
