I don't see any thing in the references to explain how 'Bourbon nigra' came to share a record with the other roses here. It is described in the 1906 'Nomenclature de tous les noms de roses connus' as being dark purple. The other roses have varying descriptions, but I don't see any other dark purple roses.
Perhaps 'Bourbon nigra' ought to have its own record?

I don't know whether Hortico sells another rose than Vintage, but the Vintage rose definitely isn't the original Rose Pavot, it's Alika, which seems to be identical to R. gallica 'Splendens'
