The name plate for this rose in Dunedin Botanic Garden, Dunedin, NZ (see photo) states that it commemorates the anniversary of the Royal New Zealand Navy, 1 October 1941. As the New Zealand Plant Variety Right (patent) was applied for in 1999 and granted in 2000 (now surrendered), one assumes the anniversary referred to was the 60th.
